TransAmerica Trail Project

From April 20th to July 12th, 2025 I will be cycling 4253 miles across the US on the TransAmerica Trail! I will be documenting my trip on social media and in a blog below that calls attention to the numerous anti LGBTQ laws that have been passed in the states through which the trail passes. 

For the past ten years I have been working on a memoir about my upbringing and escape from a fanatical, evangelical christian cult. This TransAmerica adventure will be the culmination of a personal journey, one that will frame the story of my childhood, connecting the personal harm my family and I experienced at the hands of church leaders to the macro level harm caused by the influence of the evangelical church on legislative policy. 

This project also includes a pledge per mile fundraiser for the Grand Rapids Trans Foundation.
